Sikh Women Now is a newly founded non-profit, non-political organization that promotes the advocacy of women’s rights, supports other women organizations and helps fight against domestic violence. The organization hopes to expand its horizon in order to help people around the world.
On April 17, 2011, the organization had its launch day during which I helped sell t-shirts and attract people to sign up as members of the organization. We planned the t-shirt designs ahead of the time and got together the necessary equipment needed to attract attention to our booth.
We hope that more people help our organization by volunteering and spreading the word. The issue of Sikh women’s right is old but hasn’t been touched. We hope that our effort to begin a movement will result in positive change around the world for not only Sikh women but women in general.
